Technical Sector: Agricultural Sector

A participatory, multi-week training program for farmers and local facilitators. Delivered in collaboration with NMHSs and agriculture departments, the curriculum focuses on understanding climate–crop–pest relationships and using forecasts in seasonal decision-making. The program strengthens feedback between farmers and forecast providers.

An expert system that generates crop-specific advisories across four time scales (3-day, 10-day, monthly, seasonal). It incorporates machine learning, real-time and historical weather data, and climate norms to advise on planting, irrigation, and pest control. Disseminates bulletins via email, SMS, apps, and social media, and supports user feedback loops.
