The project provided data support to Asian Institute of Technology for its project on “Development of alternative forecasted short-range rainfall and capability improvement of reservoir operation optimization”. RIMES provided rainfall forecast data in digital and graphic files for the period Aug 2008 – Jun 2013.

The project acquired and installed a WMO-compliant automatic weather station at CCDB’s Climate Technology Park, and developed a web application for weather observation data collection.

The project assisted WMO in organizing the 7th session of the South Asian Climate Outlook Forum (SASCOF-7) and the 1st session of the South Asian Climate Services user Forum for Agriculture (CSUF-Ag1). Key activities included forum preparations, development and issue of a consensus-based climate outlook statement for 2015-2016 winter season over South Asia, and documentation.

This project helped in  modernizing the agro-meteorological observing and monitoring system of Myanmar’s Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).   Key activities included site selection and survey; equipment acquisition; station installations and telemetry; integration into DMH systems; and onsite training on operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
