The Climate Adaptation and Resilience for South Asia (CARE South Asia) project, supported by the World Bank, is aimed at building resilience to climate change by promoting evidence-based climate-smart decision-making and enhancing policies, standards, and capacities for climate-resilient development in the Southasia region.

CARE-South Asia project is being jointly implemented by RIMES and ADPC. On the first component: promoting evidence-based climate-smart decision-making, RIMES is the World Bank’s implementation partner. Activities are focused on :

  • improving the availability of regional data, knowledge base, and analytical services through the development of Regional Resilience Data and Analytics Services (RDAS)
  • strengthening sectoral Decision Support Systems (DSS) piloted in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Pakistan.

CARE-South Asia will cater to sectors ranging from agriculture, livestock, early warning, and disaster risk management to finance, transportation, planning, and water resources management.
