The project assisted BRAC in developing a Standard Operation Procedure for disaster management in support of BRAC Bangladesh’s Disaster, Environment and Climate Change program. Key activities included analysis of BRAC’s past emergency response activities, practices and institutional knowledge; incorporation of best practices; clarification of roles, responsibilities, relationships, common goals, and opportunities among BRAC, the government, and civil society organizations; review and analysis of climate-related risks; SOP development; training; and pilot implementation.
